Often mentioned with the renowned Jinju Hoegwan located near the City Hall, Jinjujib boasts indeed a league of its own inside the basement of Yeouido Department Store where it is located. There are also dak kal-guksu (warm chicken noodle soup), bibim-guksu (cold spicy brothless noodles) and steamed dumplings, but the most popular menu item is undoubtedly the kong-guksu (cold soybean noodle soup). The cold bean soup Jinjujib makes is extremely thick, nutty and just savory enough; the 40-year-old skill is really quite serious. For those who want a nourishing (and meatless) meal, Jinjujib is the place to visit around the Yeouido area. Mind you, there's always a long line of customers waiting outside the restaurant around lunch and dinner hours on weekdays and all through weekends.
