How do you describe that something special about a place when there’s really not that much special about it? We think it’s the just-right ordinariness of Jaemae-i that makes it the perfect spot for a late evening beer and lamb skewers. They don’t have particularly special ingredient sourcing or generous portions, and their exterior is rather shabby. But sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for. They excel at recreating a Chinese atmosphere and tastes, and these days it can be hard to find a table after 7pm. You’re required to order at least two servings of lamb skewers. Their many side dishes are also highly-recommended, like sweet and sour pork, hot corn noodles, fried tomato and eggs and fried eggplant. Be sure to round out your lamb skewers with a Chinese beer like Tsingtao or Harbin.
