Ganaan Super is a small supermarket situated in Samseong-dong. Once you set foot into its cramped interior, the shop looks like a plain old grocery store, but deeper inside lies a cozy restaurant space with 20 years worth of history. Self-described as a restaurant within a supermarket, the offical name for the diner translates to "Promised Land Sikdang in a Supermarket." In the morning, the restaurant serves ramen and for lunch, kimchi jjigae and jaeyuk bokkeum are offered. Although the restaurant so hidden as to almost qualify as a speakeasy, Ganaan Super is always packed with customers as their dishes are not not too salty or spicy, and a meal is only 6,000 won. You may be picturing an old restaurant with disheveled walls by now, but the restaurant was recently renovated, and the side dishes are prepared in-house with a lot of care.
