Ban Pichai is famous for authentic Thai appeal since its opening.”Ban Pichai” means “brothers’ place” in Thai language. The restaurant is actually run by two Koreans familiar with Thailand food culture. They wanted to bring enjoyable authentic Thai food that you would expect in the main street of Bangkok at a “reasonable price” in a “friendly atmosphere.” It is true that most of Thai cuisine in Korea were conspicuously high-end restaurant or rather “too humble” restaurant run by Thai locals. Ban Pichai skillfully blends the two, by serving a variety of wine in small restaurant. Of course, they have Singha, Thai beer. Having studied Thai food in Chiang Mai, Two Korean chefs bring a Thai taste onto their dishes. Though a bit pricy, seasonal fruity desserts are recommendable. As this Thai restaurant is not capacious, it’d be better to make a reservation.
