Not much is known about young wonder, Doja Cat. The mysterious Los Angeles-based singer/rapper sets Soundcloud and Tumblr in a frenzy each time she unleashes another creation. The newly turned 18-year-old began buzzing with her biggest tune to date, “So High,” a rendition of Evil Needles "Falling Leaves" track. Now mastered and re-released, the track was originally recorded on Garage Band and went viral on SoundCloud with over 800k plays. Doja Cat then parked heavy label interest as an industry hot topic, managing to build a natural following with very minimal blog support.
Doja Cat's upbringing has helped her be at ease with her emotions, art, and sound. As a youth, her father danced in Lion King on Broadway and her mother would play tunes from acts like Earth, Wind & Fire, Aaliyah, The Fugees, Erykah Badu and more. Love for soul music has made its influence in her choice of production as well, which made her a trailblazer in Los Angeles’ mostly male-dominated beat head and boom bap scene. In regards to personal style, Doja Cat's bold aesthetic is a reflection of her diverse environment -- the endless world of the internet, 8 bit, anime, instagram, and the artworks of her many talented peers.
With the recent release of her debut 'Purrr!' EP, Doja Cat is set to release her full length next year.

In a world in which upstart DiY talent is flooding the gates of electronic music, a few recent voices have been so strong as to be startling. Lapalux – AKA 25-year-old Stuart Howard – is certainly one such. As singular as a brilliant artist always should be, his instinctive understanding of the atmospheric power of texture grips the ear immediately on listening.
