Laurel Street Fair

It is known, San Francisco spends most of the summer shrouded in fog while Oakland basks in endless sunshine. For 16 years, residents of Oakland’s charming Laurel District have celebrated their good fortune with a free community-oriented street festival. This year’s event is promised to be the biggest yet, with three blocks of MacArthur Boulevard between 35th and 38th Avenue dedicated to artists, a kid’s carnival, local music acts, chefs and brewers. Escape the gray and take part in this Oakland tradition.
