The words of famous San Francisco writers from Jack Kerouac to Mark Twain are brought vividly to life in this stage production. Pieces that originally appeared in the likes of Collier’s and The New Yorker are rendered into dazzling monologues by Subterranean Shakespeare Theater’s artistic director Geoffrey Pond, with music by Joshua Raoul Brody. A loving tribute to the city by the bay, and a great history lesson, too.
