San Francisco Marathon

The younger and more athletic cousin of the Bay to Breakers foot race has grown every year since its inception in 1977. The course starts at the Embarcadero and then heads around the entire city, through the Mission, the Haight, Golden Gate Park and Bridge, and Fisherman’s Wharf and the Marina. Of course, the less hardcore can opt to tackle either of the two half-marathons or the 5K on the same day.
