Built into a loft-style space in a small brick building quickly being overshadowed by new neighbouring skyscrapers, this is one of the most vibrant new additions to the SF dining scene (from the people behind Town Hall). The restaurant always looks great, especially at night, when soft glowing light illuminates the noisy crowd as they enjoy the inventive contemporary American cuisine. The menu changes seasonally, but standouts among the main courses include roasted lamb loin and dry-aged ribeye grilled to perfection. At lunch, don't miss the Cuban pork sandwich and housemade chips.
