After a short hiatus, soul food darling Tanya Holland is back in Oakland with a new Uptown flagship. The large, minimalist restaurant decked out in soft blues and hanging funnel lights will serve up the same fare that made Holland famous: buttermilk-fried chicken and cornmeal waffles, oyster po-boy sandwiches and smoked chicken and shrimp gumbo. Breakfast starts at daybreak (7am Weds-Sat); get there early before the beignets and biscuits run out!
