Local legend, karaoke DJ Purple, is celebrating 10 years of his Thursday night dance party, which kicked off a decade ago in tiny Mission dive Jack’s Club and has matured into a weekly must-do at Slate Bar. Known for his boundless catalog, club-like lighting and occasional live sax cameos, DJ Purple attracts the most fun, mostly talented singers in the city’s vibrant karaoke scene.
