If your idea of a romantic weekend involves riding around in a convertible while solving the mystery of a missing racehorse, then you might consider the Headlands Gamble for your next getaway.

San Francisco start-up First Person Travel takes care of all the logistics for the trip, providing participants with a fancy car, a luxe hotel room, a curated playlist and delicious meals for the immersive adventure. All you have to do: Play the role of the protagonist during this real-life video-game scenario set in picturesque Marin. A custom app on the provided tablet guides you through the weekend as you encounter shady characters, hunt for hidden clues and discover secluded coastal towns.

Intrigued? The price tag can be steep (the all-inclusive package is $1,325 per person for two people or $937 per person for four people), so First Person Travel also offers a DIY option ($900 per person for two people or $612 per person for four people), but you have to bring your own car, snacks and playlist.
