Ready for the newest incarnation of San Francisco nightlife? It’s a gorgeous marriage of two themed venues, Rick & Roxy’s.
At Rick’s, you’ll get drenched with 1970s nostalgia in this bar with low ceilings, a decorative rock wall, a game room stocked with Skee-Ball and oversized Connect 4, and expertly-made cocktails of another era. Under the same roof, the Roxy’s side is a retro disco nightclub with a light-up parquet dance floor, catwalks, go-go cages, mirrored DJ booth and, of course, the requisite disco ball.
Look out for the glowing lipstick kiss wallpaper and glittery photo booth, too, and drift from Roxy’s to Rick’s until you’ve reached that perfect level of vintage nirvana.
Rick & Roxy’s opens at 7pm on Thursday, August 22 at 2131 Lombard in the Marina district, a few doors down from Mel’s Drive-In. It’ll stay open until the amorphous and promising “close.” Thereafter, you’ll find that the Rick’s side is open Wednesday through Sunday with varying hours, and that Roxy’s is open for dancing on Fri and Sat from 9pm to 2am. Stay tuned for more info, or just go in person to find out everything straight from R&R (or maybe just the owners, Max Young and Michael Wilbert). Finally, check out the club’s Instagram reel with a Ryan Reynolds look-alike bartender tossing cocktail napkins in slow-mo labeled “Deadpool at night.”
