Outside Lands returns to Golden Gate Park in August, with a three-day lineup of live music, art, food, wine and cannabis. It’s the largest independently owned music festival in the U.S., and you need to be thinking now about scoring tickets and considering various add-ins (they get more expensive the longer you wait). And you’ll want to contemplate what else you might do if you’re traveling to San Francisco for the festival. Come and stay a while: explore our city and the larger Bay Area.
When is Outside Lands 2024?
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 9 to 11 at Golden Gate Park.
What is 2024’s lineup like?
Friends, it’s just a lot. There will be more than 90 acts across six stages. The three main stages are Lands End, Twin Peaks and Sutro. This year’s headliners include the Killers, Sabrina Carpenter, Sturgill Simpson, the Postal Service, Grace Jones, Kaytranada, Daniel Caesar, Jungle, Chris Lake, Gryffin and Post Malone, with additional sets from Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Slowdive, K.Flay, Killer Mike and many, many more.
The schedule is posted, too, but you’re going to have to scroll to the bottom of this story for that because frankly it’s a long list.
How much are tickets?
The ticket prices below are “all in,” meaning the fees have already been incorporated into the cost.
General admission is $226 for a single day or $528 for the full three days.
GA+ is $350 for a single day and $785 for the festival. The + gives you expedited festival entry, access to the GA+ Lounge with upgraded bathrooms, free soda and a full-service bar and food for purchase. You also get access to lockers you can rent.
VIP is $518 per day or $1,160 for all three days. At this price point, you get access to exclusive lounges, a dedicated merch store, VIP lockers for rent, upgraded restrooms, dedicated entrances at the north and south sides of the park and special viewing areas at the Lands End, Sutro and Twin Peaks stages that feature dedicated VIP bars. The VIP courtyard lounge near the Lands End stage has special food vendors, premium bars, upgraded restrooms and more. Finally, you’ll get a commemorative festival poster.
But hold the phone—there’s a level above the VIP level. It’s the Golden Gate Club in collaboration with interior designer and internet personality Ken Fulk, and that’s $2,367 for a single day and $5,305 for the festival. At this ultra-luxe level, you’ll be wined and dined by local culinary and cocktail legends, experience dedicated front stage viewing with complimentary beverages at Lands End, Twin Peaks and Sutro, and have golf cart service between stages. If you want to chill and find a shaded place to sit, the Skydeck Parlor at Lands End is basically a long, elegant balcony overlooking the main stage. Plus, along with a lot of other things we can’t go into, you’ll have exclusive presale access to all Outside Lands Night Shows.
What are the other add-ins?
You can prepay for a shuttle that takes you from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium downtown out to the festival grounds in Golden Gate Park. It costs $30 for a single day and starts at $45 for the full festival (alas, the shuttle prices are tiered and the lower price ones are selling out already, so the tickets are now up to $63).
You can also book a cabana or box suite, though prices for those are not published. If you’re a snackatarian, “Bites of the Bay” is the secret snack menu, and a $20 ticket lets you then purchase tiny snacks from participating vendors.
Finally, and this is probably not on most people’s list: You can get married at the festival’s “City Hall” in a eucalyptus grove. The $362 price point includes an officiant, photographer, time slot, locker, seating for guests and—this is important—two drink tickets. The newlyweds can have one drink each, starting off their married life with moderation and good judgment.
