Monday: Take your yoga practice to new heights
Take your yoga positions to the next level thanks to this free introductory class on acro yoga. Students can work with partners or in groups of three or more, but feel free to come alone and make some new flexible friends.
Monday: Get crafty at Salesforce Park
Salesforce Park barely opened on Saturday, but its calendar is already jam-packed with events. On Monday, attend the park's first Monday Night Makers event, featuring DIY activities hosted by a different crafting partner each month. This month is the Museum of Craft and Design.
Tuesday: Listen to poetry on your lunch break
Enjoy line breaks during your lunch break as some of the Bay Area’s best poets and musicians share their work on the YBCA greens from 12:30–1:30pm. The readings are free, but be sure to get there early to snag a spot on the lawn.
Tuesday: $1 pizza (need we say more?)
Swing by Mission bar Barrel Proof this Tuesday for dollar slices of pizza and free games of pool. From 5–11pm, choose between three cheese or pepperoni pizza, both made with the restaurant's signature, NYC-style thin crust.
Wednesday: Drink a free chai
Celebrate Indian Independence day with a free chai at Kasa Indian Eatery. To get your frothy beverage, check in on Facebook at any of the Kasa locations from 12–9pm and show a staff member.
Wednesday: Learn the art of Forest Bathing
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, Forest Bathing has demonstrated benefits for stress reduction and cognitive function. On your walk through the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden, Hana Lee Goldin will offer a series of guided invitations to assist you in finding your own authentic way of interacting with the land.
Wednesday: Stream Ellen DeGeneres live in SF
For three nights only, Ellen Degeneres will be in San Francisco amusing the crowds at Davies Symphony Hall. If you weren't able to snag a ticket, the Wednesday night show will be live-streamed on the music hall's Facebook Page.
Thursday: Learn how to make ramen
Want to learn how to put together a delicious bowl of homemade ramen? Head to The Story of Ramen on Thursday night to indulge in homemade potstickers and learn to craft your own ramen noodles and broth from scratch. Only a few tickets are left, so slurp ‘em up quick!
Friday: Run through colorful clouds
Make it rain chalk at this year’s Bay Area Color Run. Jog or walk the 5K-race in a white T-shirt to come out with a one-of-a-kind souvenir. Afterward, cool off with music, dancing and snacks.
Saturday: Grab a beer (or two) with friends
The Bay Area Brew Fest returns this Saturday for its seventh year, bringing back dozens of breweries, food trucks and live music sets for an all-day rager. Tickets include unlimited beer samplings.
Sunday: Eat all the ice cream
Get the scoop on some of the best Bay Area ice cream shops at this year’s SF Ice Cream Festival. Tickets are just $5 and kiddos under 10 are free.
Sunday: Get jazzy on Polk Street
Experience the Polk Street Blues Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind, this weekend. Crowd around the main stages for live music, shop the merchant marketplace for arts and crafts and indulge in local food, beer and wine at the weekend-long event.
