SF Beer Week is always full of fun new releases, but Temescal Brewing in Oakland really takes the cake (by taking on a millennial favorite) with a new pamplemousse sparkling ale called La Fizz.

Made with grapefruits bought at Berkeley Bowl (that the brewers zested themselves), the resulting lager is super light and effervescent.

"Our staff drinks the stuff by the case and we sell three varieties of the cans in our taproom to customers who'd prefer a nonalcoholic option. Pamplemousse is far and away the most popular flavor with that crowd, so that's what we settled on as our beer tribute," said brewery owner Sam Gilbert in a statement.

The brewery will release the new beer Tuesday, February 13 at 4pm at their taproom on Telegraph Avenue. A six-pack of 12-ounce cans will cost $13.99, and draft pints will be available for people who want to try the sparkling brew before they buy. The brewery will also be selling can-shaped glasses printed with the La Fizz logo for $12. Tacos Oscar will be on hand with fresh bites to pair with the beer.
