We don’t want to freak you out, but remember how cold it was at Outside Lands? Get ready for more of the same, because we’re going to experience a rare August cold front, according to the National Weather Service Bay Area.

By Thursday, that wave of chilliness will move through the Bay Area, along with gusty winds and even a slight chance of rain. Expect highs in the low 60s in San Francisco.

But that’s fine. No one ever expected San Francisco to be a bastion of balminess. Surrounded by water on three sides, we anticipate a little sea breeze and fog to keep our spirits down (er… up). Don’t roll your eyes when we remind you that Mark Twain said the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. Just go out and get that nice sweatshirt at Park Life, thrust your head into a beanie from San Franpsycho and hunker down for the duration at one of the coffee shops on our “best of” list. We can get through this.

And hey, at least there’s no tsunami expected.
