Colorful British electronicist Derwin "Gold Panda" Powers, whose choppy yet melodic beats made his debut album Lucky Shiner a big success, just released his third full-length, Good Luck and Do Your Best, which balances kinetic sounds with a more meditative ambience inspired by his travels to Japan. Panda will make a pit stop at the Independent, where his army of alt-techno-addicted fans will sway to infectious staple tunes such as "You." Tickets are long gone for Thursday’s performance, but you just might be able to snatch one up for Friday’s just-added set.
