Located in Union Square, the Westin is one of the oldest and largest hotels in San Francisco. Built in 1904, the building is famous for its exterior glass elevators that offer panoramic views of the bay and the square below and its semi-scandalous past—it's where starlet Virginia Rappe was murdered in 1921 and entertainer Al Jolson collapsed and died during a poker game in 1950.
