Xara Thustra: Retrospective Divestiture

The first major event at the freshly remodeled LAB gallery serves as a farewell party to yet another provocateur joining the exodus of artists from San Francisco. For over 15 years in the city, Xara Thustra has created everything from paintings and performances, to books and agitprop graffiti and commissioned Market Street murals. In parting, the artist will create an installation and exhibit hundreds of works, all of which will be auctioned off to a single bidder at the end of the party. And oh what a party it will be, launching with a big free dinner, and featuring an array of performances by artists, musicians and DJs through the wee hours.
