For those headed to Singapore this Christmas, a layover should be the last thing on your mind. As of this year, two mainstream airlines have launched nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport to Singapore. Clocking in at 18 hours long, it's the fifth-longest nonstop flight in the world and the longest nonstop flight to depart from the United States.
United operates its SFO-Singapore route with a fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while Singapore Airlines will be enlisting it’s ultra-chic Airbus A350-90020s for the trans-Pacific voyage. The new Airbus A350s seat 253 passengers in three classes of service: 42 in business class, 24 in premium economy and 187 in standard economy. Although the aircraft's famously luxurious first class lounge is noticeably missing.
A quick glance at Google Flights’ SFO-SIN flight schedule shows a full schedule of (reasonably affordable) seats for sale through the end of the year.
Not too keen on being airborne for such a long period of time? Take advantage of United’s super cheap airfare to closer destinations like Honolulu, Boston, and Miami.
