The cliche is true; summer in San Francisco is mostly freezing. Early fall, on the other hand, is delightfully warm, if not downright hot. But we don't need to tell you this, San Francisco. You've got a dusty table fan placed directly toward your face right now while you seriously consider installing air conditioning. But it's not all night sweats and melted organic popsicles. Cool off with our list of the 13 best things about SF's classic Indian Summers:

1. Fresh produce is especially amazing during the fall harvest, and we get to enjoy it outside and in shorts.

2. Even when it's 90 degrees outside, it's still not humid. (LOL East Coast.)

3. The goose-bumped summer tourists have headed home with their emergency SF fleeces, and we get to enjoy a sunny city all to ourselves.

4. We get to sound very local and knowledgeable when saying, "This is totally earthquake weather," and then watch transplants freak out.

5. Artisan cocktails on rooftop bars.

6. Crush and harvest events in wine country.

7. All the little kids have gone back to school. We love them but—WOO HOO!

8. Posting pictures of Baker Beach on Facebook in September and basking in the jealousy of out-of-state friends.

9. San Francisco summer festivals continue way into the fall: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Folsom Street Fair, Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival and the Columbus Day festivities in North Beach, to name a few.

10. We're tan until the new year.

11. In even-numbered years, the San Francisco Giants win the World Series.

12. We finally get to wear all of those cute clothes we bought for summer.

13. San Francisco is home to the best ice cream in the world
