Modern day hippies will get their day in the sun after all.

For months, rumors about a free concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love in Golden Gate Park have had San Franciscans in a tizzy, wondering whether or not they should start assembling their perfect flower crown, only for each permit proposal to be shot down by the city. This week, however, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department announced that they will throw their own free music festival and light show at the Conservatory of Flowers—and it's really soon!

The Surrealistic Summer Solstice will take place on June 21 (the first official day of summer) and feature performances by members of Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Chambers Brothers, as well as over 40 other legendary musicians. The live performances will also correspond with the psychedelic light show on the facade of the Conservatory of Flowers

Off the Grid will provide sustenance with a variety of food trucks, so all you have to worry about it wearing enough tie-dye. The show starts at 6:30pm and the light show is at 9:15pm. Attendees are asked to register on Eventbrite. Groovy.
