For the seventh year, the Phono del Sol Music and Food Festival is returning to San Francisco's Potrero del Sol Park. You know that park—it's right where Bayshore Boulevard, Potrero Avenue and Cesar Chavez all converge in one corner of the Mission District, technically at 25th and Utah Streets. The venue is ideal for neighborhood bands, food, families and a lot of SPF-50.
This year's festival will take place on Saturday, June 17 at noon, and will feature some of the Bay Area's favorite indie bands. Curated by award-winning non-profit blog and podcast "The Bay Bridged," along with music studio Tiny Telephone, some seriously smart music nerds are behind this year's picks for festival bands. While we don't know set times yet, we do know the bands. Behold the Phono del Sol Music and Food Fest line-up:
Thee Oh Sees
The Coathangers
Jay Som
Sean Hayes
DUCKWRTH
Bells Atlas
Never Young
Rayana Jay
Madeline Kenney
Tino Drima
Come hungry and thirsty to take advantage of the food festival's myriad of food truck and beverage offerings, including cocktails and craft beer. There will also be family-friendly activities for kids of all ages. General admission is $29, children five and under can enter free, kids 6-17 are $15, and VIP passes with fancy perks run $60. Wanna buy a ticket at the door? No problem, it'll be $35. And if you've got a group, save money and buy six tickets for the price of five. A proceed of the day's funds will go to benefit the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department. The whole concept of affordable food and music in a Potrero-adjacent park is too good to pass up. Plus, Thee Oh Sees in their hometown? Yes please.
