In the vast world of perfect food items, the sandwich ranks pretty high. And in the vast world of sandwich spots, Pal's Takeaway is king.
Over the past nine years, Oakland lunch spot Pal's Takeaway has known several homes, including a pop-up at Firebrand Artisan Breads and an official home at Forage Kitchen. In honor of its near-decade of sandwich success, Pal's Takeaway is celebrating its ninth birthday with a (very) limited-time guest-chef "One Sandwich After Another" sandwich series. Some of the Bay Area's hottest chefs are offering their takes on the sandwich, from kimchi-brined fried chicken and slaw on a black sesame to a slab bread sando of Char siu BBQ pork with Chinese hot mustard and daikon.
Swing by Pal's this Spring to take advantage of this exciting sandwich season. Participating chefs are serving up their special selection on select days this April and May. While we don't know next month's chefs and sandwiches yet, April's masterpiece of a menu is almost more than we can handle. Almost.
