One of San Francisco's hottest restaurants just got even hotter. Instead of turning their downstairs space into the boring and standard private-event dining room, Liholiho Yacht Club owners have created a 24-seat, reservations-only, underground cocktail lounge called Louie's Gen-Gen Room. (Hold on. We're booking our table right now.)
Chef Ravi Kapur and cocktail genius Yani Kehagiaras insist there's no crossover with their James Beard-nominated restaurant upstairs—other than a chic and modern Hawaiian vibe. Louie's food and drink menu is entirely different from Liholiho Yacht Club's; rumor has it, there are grilled cheese sandwiches and savory waffles topped with ham. (Hold on. We just need to confirm that reservation.)
Louie's Gen-Gen Room tables can only be booked up to a week in advance and reservations—held with a credit card—can include a maximum of four people. If a friend flakes, you've got to call and update your reservation 24 hours in advance or risk a $25 charge. Act fast and grab a reservation right now.
