Inner children rejoice: A ball pit cocktail bar is coming to San Francisco

Why should kids be the only ones to have any fun? A nightlife promoter has finally arrived at the long-overdue idea to offer a cocktail bar featuring a pit filled with colorful plastic balls. Ryan Lum, founder of San Francisco company Forward Motion, revealed his plans to host the second in what will hopefully become a plentiful and successful series of ball pit drinking events in the city.

The first ever ball pit bar night was held last weekend and was such a ball (pun intended) that we're getting more. Attendees waded through the balls, drank brightly colored themed cocktails and played drinking games. "One of the bartenders tossed a small green plastic turtle into the ball pit," Lum told Mashable, "and announced that if anyone found it, they would get a free shot." This actually sounds kind of terrifying, but apparently was a non-dangerous hit with the crowd.

Coming to Monarch April 28, ball pit night will allow grown-ups to enjoy their libations the way alcohol was always intended to be enjoyed—chest-deep in 40,000 plastic balls. Can't totally picture it? Here's a helpful video to get you psyched.
