San Francisco Hamilfans, get your credit cards ready. S.F. is set to become the third city to host the genre-defying megahit musical Hamilton come March, and onsale dates for tickets have just been announced.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop and pop biography of Alexander Hamilton and his fellow founding fathers will launch its first national touring company here at the SHN Orpheum Theatre, following on the heels of the Broadway and Chicago productions. It’s set to run in San Francisco from March 10 to August 5 before moving on to Los Angeles, and if last summer’s first day of sales in Chicago is any indication, the entire five-month block of tickets will be gone in a flash.

Presale for American Express cardmembers will go live online Monday, December 5 at 10am Pacific Time, at www.hamilton.shnsf.com. (Again, based on what we saw in Chicago, AmEx holders would be wise to take advantage to get the best seats.) Tickets will go on sale to the general public a week later, December 12 at 10am, online, via phone (888-746-1799) or in person at the Orpheum box office (1192 Market St). There’s a purchase limit of six tickets per household. SHN hasn’t said yet what the pricing will be for Hamilton tickets, but we’d expect a range similar to the Chicago production, where base prices are $65–$180, but "premium" seats (i.e. most of the main floor) will run toward $500.
