Seeking a show with your hamburger and fries? Kitschy diner chain Hamburger Mary's is returning to San Francisco this fall, sixteen years after the original location closed on Folsom Street.
For those who have never had the pleasure of dining at Hamburger Mary's, the restaurant serves pretty basic fare such as fried appetizers, sandwiches and burgers with live drag performances between courses.
The new location will be at 521 Castro Street; the space was formerly occupied by The Patio but has been vacant since 1999. And though it's a chain, the location hopes to remind locals of the original Folsom Street outpost which opened in the 1970s. The restaurant is applying for alive performance permit, so you can expect a quality drag show (and some accompanying noise) with your meal.
Look for the business to open sometime after Labor Day.
