When we think of Gott's Roadside, we envision the quaint ambiance of an old-school burger stand mixed with a seriously modern menu of updated and affordable classics. It's for these worthy reasons that treks to St. Helena, Napa, Palo Alto and San Francisco's Embarcadero are totally worth the traffic and travel—specifically for that mind-blowing Wisconsin sourdough burger.
That trek-time is about to get a bit shorter for Gott's fans around the Bay Area. The restaurant company announced plans to open three new outposts. The first, slated to launch this July, will be at San Francisco International Airport. The other two will open this fall in both Walnut Creek and Greenbrae.
The choice to open a spot at SFO is a calculated one. "We kind of fantasize about Los Angeles or Southern California as a future market largely because of population and climate," Gott's President Clay Walker told SFGate. "For a growing brand, SFO is yet another operating opportunity for us."
The Walnut Creek location will be close to the trendy Broadway Plaza Shopping Center in the former Fresh Choice space, while the Greenbrae spot will take over the former Wipeout Bar & Grill at the Bon Air Shopping Center.
Walker also equated the company's success with the country's tense political atmosphere, saying, "Viewing the world through the lens of one brand, I think the polarized political climate has certainly pushed people toward more comfort food or at least environments where people feel comfortable eating."
"We're in the happy business. Our job is to make customers happy," said Walker.
For fans who can't wait until fall, Gott's four current locations would be delighted to take your order right now.
