Alison Moyet: The Other Tour

The controversial British songwriter will play from her latest album, an eclectic electronic-meets-60s-meets-90s mashup. “The English U” for instance, has some strong 90s influences while “The Rarest Bird” combines 60s beats with an orchestra arrangement. Expect some moments of depth and darkness and some moments of nostalgia and pure rock and roll. The Fillmore, 1805 Geary Blvd (thefillmore.com). Sept 26 at 8pm.

The Shins and Spoon

Spoon and The Shins will share the stage for one night only this month.
