Bon Appetit names Lord Stanley the third best restaurant in America

You've still got it, San Francisco. Prestigious food magazine Bon Appetit has released their "Hot 10" ranking of the best restaurants in the United States of America—and a San Francisco hotspot has scored the bronze.

Bon Appetit writers Andrew Knowlton and Julia Kramers called this year's top ten "the most eclectic, geographically diverse and delicious Hot 10 we've ever compiled."

Lord Stanley has ranked #3 with Bon Appetit, which should prove an unnecessary but welcome boost for the Nob Hill restaurant, which is already incredibly popular. Owners (and spouses) Carrie and Rupert Blease opened Lord Stanley on Polk Street in 2015 and received their first Michelin star this year. Accolades have been heaped upon the casually high-end spot ever since. As for Bon Appetit's review, Kramer described her first bite at Lord Stanley "like that moment in Pleasantville when the world changed from black-and-white to Technicolor."

Atlanta's Staplehouse locked down the coveted #1 spot on the Hot 10. New York doesn't show up until #8 with Wildair. (Just sayin'.) As for San Francisco spots, we're maintaining our well-earned reputation as a foodie paradise. Our own Al's Place was #1 with Bon Appetit in 2015, and one of two local spots in that year's Hot 10. This year, the Richmond District's low key Arcisault Bakery was awarded Bon Appetit's Bakery of the Year. And downtown's chic Leo's Oyster Bar was award Best Designed Restaurant of the Year.

In related news, Smuggler's Cove was recently named the Best American Cocktail Bar at the 10th Annual Spirited Awards. Not too shabby, San Francisco!
