Beloved by locals and tourists alike, local landmark Alamo Square Park has been languishing behind chain link for more than a year. No more!
After undergoing a $5.3 million makeover, it’s time to pull back the curtain and reveal the goods. Park goers will notice dozens of new trees, resurfaced tennis courts and improved accessibility. The renovation also included replacing 30-year-old irrigation lines and 70-year-old quick couplers to help save 2.5 million gallons of water per year at the park.
Sunbathers, dog walkers, Frisbee tossers and Painted Ladies Instagrammers are invited to take part in the grand reopening on Wednesday, May 24, with family activities planned after some stimulating speeches from local civic luminaries.
