Spring has officially sprung! This year is breezing by, but we're taking a moment to stop and smell the (spring) roses. Because when it comes to springtime in the city, we can think of a bouquet of a dozen reasons to rejoice.
1. El Niño is about to result in the best CUESA Farmer's Market spring bounty we've seen in years.
2. We've got two words for you: baseball season.
3. Spring marks the sun-kissed return of the Treasure Island Flea Market, the last weekend of every month.
4. From the Cherry Blossom Festival (April 11-12/18-19) to Carnaval (May 23-24), street festivals are back.
5. Stow Lake is full to the brim and perfect for paddle-boating again.
6. Off the Grid is back at Fort Mason on Friday nights.
7. Celebrities arrive en masse for the San Francisco International Film Festival (April 23-May 7.)
8. Local chefs get creative with fresh Spring ingredients (like asparagus, yay!) at all of our favorite SF restaurants.
9. There are hardly any tourists in town. Visit your favorite tourist traps and Napa wineries without the lines.
10. Nearby parks are bursting with spring blooms, making now a perfect time to resume our local hiking adventures.
11. Weekends in Dolores Park return to full, fabulous capacity, especially now that the fancy new park upgrades are completed.
12. Let's be honest. We all just got super excited about Bay to Breakers on May 17.
