This brewpub’s decor plays up its history: built in 1903, it was a focal point of hippie culture in the 1960s, before being taken over by quasi-legendary local dessert maven Magnolia Thunderpussy, after whom it’s now named. A staple for beer-lovers and residents of the Haight-Ashbury for more than 16 years, Magnolia’s solid pub menu of housemade sausages, beer-brined pork chop, and outstanding burgers complements the home-brewed beer selection, which includes cask ales.
