Time Out says

This mixed-use waterfront destination has come a long way since its days as a shipping port, when its namesake — the author Jack London — roamed around apparently thinking a lot about wolves. Today, you can still visit Heinold’s First and Last Chance Saloon, built in 1883, along with plenty of contemporary hot spots, like Plank and Yoshi’s, or check out one of many scheduled special events.
