The YBCA scored a coup by becoming the only West Coast venue for the fascinating series, Radical Presence: Black Performance in Contemporary Art. Encapsulating five decades of largely unrecognized performance art works, the static exhibit alone is worth viewing, but there is still time to catch the live performances punctuating the attraction. This week brings us Coco Fusco, the Cuban-American artist and writer, performing in character as Planet of the Ape’s sensible human-specialist Dr. Zira who will deliver a lecture on patterns of human predation, with Q&A to follow.
