If you’ve ever experienced San Antonio during Fiesta, you’re in for one Texas-sized celebration. The 11-day festival turns the city into a colorful canvas, with parades, food festivals, live music and cultural events that honor San Antonio’s rich history and communities. Whether you’re a first-timer or Fiesta regular, these seven signature events are the ones you won’t want to miss.

When: April 28, 2025

Set along the scenic San Antonio River Walk, this annual River Parade will feature more than 45 floats that actually float, drawing over 250,000 spectators along the banks of the River Walk. Created by the Texas Cavaliers in 1941, it’s a family-friendly, can’t-miss spectacle with live music and decorated barges illuminated by colorful lights.

When: May 2, 2025

This historic event has been the cornerstone of Fiesta. Dating back to 1891, Battle of Flowers honors the defenders of The Alamo and is the only parade in the U.S. produced entirely by women, many of whom are volunteers. Vibrant floral floats, marching bands and local royalty will all be in attendance. Pro tip: Get there early to snag a good spot, as there will be huge crowds.

As the largest illuminated night parade in the country, Fiesta Flambeau lights up downtown San Antonio for 3.1 miles with marching bands, dancers and dazzling floats. It’s a dramatic, high-energy experience best viewed from a comfy lawn chair with snacks in hand.

When: April 24-May 4, 2025

There’s no better place to party than an actual carnival, and Fiesta Carnival has got you covered. The event is packed with thrilling rides, carnival games and over-the-top snacks (hello, turkey legs and funnel cakes). Get your thrills on the Centrifuge, or test your luck at classic game booths like big basketball and the water race. No matter what you decide to do, you’re in for a night of bright lights, big laughs and fairground fun.
