The name comes from Hebrew and means “nature.” Yes, one of the best restaurants in Rio is vegetarian, a venture by Daniel Biron, who trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute and has experience in kitchens in Paris and Copenhagen. In partnership with Daniel Oelsner, founder of the famous tapas bar Venga, he created a standout concept: entirely plant-based dishes made with organic, seasonal ingredients from small producers. The vibe is laidback and cozy, with veranda seating, green walls, and wooden furniture. The idea here is to share. Start with the Portobello carpaccio (R$56) or the hiratake bao, which are Chinese buns with breaded and fried mushrooms (R$48, two units), before diving into the raviolone (R$78), a pasta filled with tofu ricotta and cashew nut sauce, one of the best main course options. Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 5pm, there is an executive menu (R$72-R$78), which includes a salad, a main dish, and dessert. There are cocktails with and without alcohol, as well as kombucha (R$16) and a surprising lavender lemonade (R$18). Be sure to check out Teva Deli in Copacabana, which operates as a café, bakery, restaurant, and delicatessen.
