Within months of opening in 2014, Beer Geek went from a local favorite to a reservations-required destination for its wide selection of foam-topped beverages. An international crowd of enthusiastic beer fans continue to squeeze into the banquettes and bar stools lining the edges of the room. Casual attire and a laid-back attitude define the vibe of this underground space, located across the street from the grassy lawn and distinctive Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord looming over Jiřího z Poděbrad square. A cozy bottle shop of the same name, located two streets away, sells a similarly curated selection of liquid souvenirs (or supplies for any in-town excursion that includes outdoor drinking).
Time Out tip: Pair your pivo (Czech for “beer”) with one of the eleven styles of chicken wings conceived by American-born chef Leo Joseph.
