It’s a Campanhã classic, and a valid reason to want to miss your train. A tasca in its truest form, with a counter and only one table inside, and outside a terrace sponsored by a beverage brand. In the window that looks out onto the street is the most important part of the venue: a frying pan always with the fire always burning, a sauce simmering, and where the owner keeps throwing thinly sliced pork meat to build the famous bifanas. In each bite, you will notice the light flavour of wine, garlic and bayleaf, as well as a bit of spice. The bread absorbs a bit of the sauce, and this is a beautiful example of this classic dish, with the meat melting in your mouth. The gizzards, tender and served with a bread roll on the side, are also delicious, as are the patties, and the beers are perfectly chilled. We cannot recommend O Astro enough.
