Ham is the speciality at this traditional venue, managed by FC Porto supporters, where people sit at the counter to eat varieties from Chaves, Felgueiras or Amarante. It’s served alone to eat by the slice, with Avintes farmhouse bread, or in excellent sandwiches, with simple but crisp bread and a generous chunk of ham slices. It’s also worth trying the sopa juliana, with cabbage and vegetables swimming in an intense broth, not heavy at all. In terms of ham, Baião wine and prices, Casa Louro is unbeatable.
