The melancholic alchemy was seriously studied by Echo & The Bunnymen. The British band led by Ian McCulloch crossed the post-punk gray rhythms with the new wave chromatic melodies. They began with pearls such as the albums Crocodiles (1980), Heaven Up Here (1981), Porcupine (1983) and Ocean Rain (1984). After the late 1980s, they went through an intermittent activity with drug and ego driven disagreements, and discography alternated between relevancy and redundancy. The last album, The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon, includes two unreleased tracks and offers new garments to old songs, which include classics such as "The Killing Moon", "The Cutter" and "Lips Like Sugar".
