The starting point was an old Douro manor to which new buildings were added. The end result is an impressive hotel that fits snugly into its surrounding landscape. It has 57 rooms with all the comforts – e.g., a line of biologic natural creams and shampoos –, a beautiful outer pool, a full spa (which you won’t want to leave) and scores of scheduled activities, such as wine tastings, garden picnics, bike rides or yoga classes. Meals are supervised by chef Ljubomir Stanisic, hired in 2016 as gastronomical consultant.
