A Portuguese-Argentinian husband-wife team are behind these adorable five apartments in Porto’s city centre. Even better, the couple is also behind the Portuguese-Argentinian restaurant (Belos Aires Restaurante) and Argentinian empanada and wine bar (El Argento) across the street, which serve tasty chow with an upbeat vibe.
Each apartment has its own interior design themed around music, wine, rivers, sweets or literature from Portugal and Argentina. The styling is aesthetic and functional, with each room fitted out with a fully equipped kitchen, dining setting and sofa. Rooms also have Juliet balconies, and if you score a riverside room you can enjoy beautiful city views.
While the rooms are spacious (and include a big wardrobe with an iron), the bathrooms are quite small. The exception is the top-floor room, which is split over two floors and has two bedrooms and a slightly larger bathroom.
For breakfast you can trundle down to the restaurant to feast on fresh bread and cheese and homemade cakes, quiche and biscuits for just €5. There are also freshly squeezed juices and an assortment of fruit.
To top it all off, the Belos Aires team offer uber friendly service, so expect a memorable stay.
