Time Out says

An underrated dining destination in Phuket blends modern Thai gastronomy with celestial exploration and stargazing sessions. Who knew?

Phuket’s culinary scene is constantly changing and every day a new restaurant opens somewhere on the island. So imagine our surprise when a friend mentioned DARA Cuisine Phuket. We like to think we have our finger to the pulse when it comes to Phuket’s dining scene, but apparently we’re not as trendy as we thought.

Launched in 2024, DARA Cuisine Phuket is located at the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort. The restaurant specializes in modern Thai cuisine with a focus on local produce and seasonal ingredients to create southern dishes. The grill-focused menu is complemented by guided stargazing on the Observatory Deck, cosmic-themed cocktails and interactive Thai cooking classes.

Dinner service at DARA Cuisine Phuket is from 6pm-midnight daily. After dinner, the Observatory Deck hosts rooftop stargazing sessions paired with craft cocktails inspired by constellations. This immersive culinary cosmic journey also has an on-site telescope for guests to use to identify various stars and planets. If you are looking for a romantic venue in Phuket for a unique date, DARA Cuisine ticks all of the boxes.

DARA Cuisine Phuket is definitely a one-of-a-kind venue on the island, and is hosting a series of star-studded Cosmic Culinary Journeys over the next few months starting on February 21-22 with a collaboration between Chef Supakarn (Hong) Lienpanich and Chef Andrew Martin, of Fatboy Izakaya in Bangkok which earned 1 Michelin Star in 2023.

We simply cannot wait to attend this dining event. Both Chef Hong and Chef Andrew share similar culinary journeys which have been deeply influenced by cooking alongside family members. Those traditions and connections have profoundly shaped their identity as chefs. This family-inspired culinary connection promises to deliver an outstanding dining experience focusing on authentic flavours in every dish.

Are you going to join this exclusive Cosmic Culinary Journey? Maybe we’ll see you there. The dining price starts at B5,500 per person with an additional wine pairing for B1,600 per person.
