Walking into a yoga class for the first time can be an intimidating experience. You may feel you're not flexible enough, not strong enough, or not calm enough to make it through an entire class. This series provides you with the opportunity to engage your mind and body in a study of your self, discovering breath and movement in a non-competitive and nurturing environment. We will focus on foundational vinyasa yoga poses and breath practices, and your teacher will also introduce you to the 8-limbed path of yoga. The series will be progressive, layering one class on top of the next, so that your experience and understanding of yoga continues to deepen. This series is designed to empower you to attend any class at Wake Up Yoga with confidence after its conclusion, armed with appropriate variations to protect yourself from injury and get the most out of the class. Upon completion of the Series, students receive a 10% discount on first class card.
This is an introductory series to vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa yoga can be an intense physical practice and may not be appropriate for those with recent head or neck injury, vertigo or severe joint pain. Students will be sitting on the floor at the beginning of each session, and classes are designed for those who can get up from and down onto the floor on their own power with ease.
