Situated on a charming cobblestone street behind historic Christ Church, this multi-level, modern venue describes itself as an arts incubator and community space. As such it hosts an array of theatrical and musical performances and is available for rent by groups who want to host meetings or other gatherings in one of the spacious community rooms. Several theater companies in the city use it as a homebase for their seasonal offerings, including EgoPo Classic Theater, Mazeppa Productions and FringeArts Festival productions. The main theater space, located on the fourth floor of the building, is reminiscent of an old school gymnasium, with exposed-brick walls and an expansive, wooden-floored stage area that could have once been used as a basketball court. There's also a narrow banquet hall that provides space for dance and theater-in-the-round experiences. Swing by the sidewalk out front on Wednesday between late May and early November for the Christ Church Farmers' Market. There, you can stock up on local produce, flowers and wares from spots like Lavinia's Cookies, Lil' Pop Shop and Taproot Farm.
