Hey Philly booklovers—the Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl is back for a second year with even more bookstores and events on the schedule. The Crawl celebrates Philly's lively independent bookstore scene. With more than 30 bookstores in the city and suburbs participating this year, this one’s sure to be a page-turner.

On August 24, participating bookstores will be open as usual with sales, giveaways, author discussions, book signings and other unique literary events. A total of 33 bookstores around the city and in Jenkintown, Haverford, Wayne, Ardmore, Narbeth, Elkins Park and Haddonfield will be participating. It’s a chance for you to support local, independent booksellers and have a great time in the process.

Highlights include a sneak peek of Binding Agents, the soon-to-open cookbook shop at the Italian Market. American Grammar hosts an “Ask Me Anything” with five literary agents. Iffy Books is hosting a free, all-day workshop called Draw with Code: An intro to turtle graphics using Python. Several bookstores will be giving away free books, posters, tote bags, stickers and other swag. And of course there’s an after-party—head over to Main Point Books after a day of shopping for an evening of storytelling by authors like Emma Copley Eisenberg.

More Crawl deals and events will be announced, so stay updated via the Philly Book Crawl on Instagram. And on August 24, grab that quirky tote from your fave bookshop and head out to find your next beach read or literary obsession.
