Yep—it’s that time of year again.

Le Dîner en Blanc is a decades-plus tradition that originated in Paris in the eighties and has become a global phenomenon. Philadelphia is one of 120 participating cities. It draws thousands of people from all over town dressed to the nines in all white to a secret location. The 12th edition will be held this Thursday, August 15, and you can still register here.

And despite the requirements of BYO everything—essentially, attendees create their own dinner party setting with tables, chairs, food, drink, and even cutlery—membership grows and the anticipation of the location reveal builds. One of the most exclusive events, the annual outdoor dinner soirée, sells out every year, and tickets are reserved for members only. Past Dîner en Blanc's venues include Franklin Square, the Please Touch Museum, Logan Circle, Boathouse Row, and other iconic attractions.

It’s about Brotherly Love, after all. A group of strangers came together over a shared meal in the middle of the city for one night only, and they experienced the city like never before. And lots of dancing. This year’s party will feature "Come and Get Your Love" as its theme song, plus live music by the Boathouse Row Band and DJ Nico Oso, tango lessons, and even a Philly drum line.

If you can’t join DEB, admire the people watching.
